A natural, effective alternative to steroid suppositories; helps soothe and heal anal fissures.

Ultra-thin (1/6" or 3.5 mm in diameter) for easy insertion into sore or traumatized rectum. Extra-long (2 inches) to reach a fissure even high up in the rectal canal. Or, each suppository can be broken into 2 or 3 suppositories if fissure is closer to anus.

People with Inflammatory Bowel Disease often suffer from anal and/or rectal fissures. Also, postpartum women, the elderly, or people with severe constipation can suffer anal or rectal tearing. FissureHeal suppositories are composed of the most effective herbal ingredients to assist in healing these tears and fissures.*

Ingredients: Slippery elm, marshmallow root, comfrey root, cocoa butter, beeswax.

Slippery Elm - good for diarrhea and ulcers when taken internally. Soothes inflamed mucous membranes of the stomach, intestines and urinary tract.*

Marshmallow Root - soothes and heals mucous membranes, skin and other tissues. Aids the body in expelling excess mucus and fluid.*

Comfrey Root - speeds healing of wounds, bleeding hemorrhoids, and many skin conditions. Contains allantoin; a significant skin healer/regenerator.*

Cocoa Butter - a rich and soothing emollient to moisturize tissue leaving it more supple and pliable.*

Beeswax - only a minimal amount is added to increase stability and aid even dispersion of the ingredients as the suppository melts. Emollient and protective for rectal/anal tissue.*

SUGGESTED USE: (see package insert for detailed instructions)

  1. Ideally, empty bowels prior to insertion.
  2. Break off suppository to the desired length, or use as is.
  3. Hold the suppository with your fingers and slide gently into your anal canal, either standing, sitting on the toiltet, or lying down on your side.

Here's What Jini Says

These suppositories contain comfrey – which is a fantastic wound healer. Therefore, they heal anal or rectal fissures amazingly quickly. I’ve used them myself numerous times. I've made them 2" long in case you have a long fissure, or one high up your rectal canal. But, if your fissure is closer to your anus, you can break them into shorter pieces and get 2-3 suppositories out of each one. They’re also extra-thin so no matter how traumatized or sore your rectum is, you can insert them easily.

Important: Professional herbalists and naturopathic physicians take a very different stance on comfrey use from the established authorities. Many herbalists and NDs feel it's safe to use comfrey as long as you don't use it continually, long-term. Therefore, they recommend you use it in moderate doses for 3 to 6 months, then take a break of 1 month to allow the liver to cleanse properly, then resume use for 3 to 6 months, etc. as needed. Comfrey has become one of the FDA's targeted substances - likely due to its effectiveness, so when you do your research, keep that in mind.

Personally, I have used comfrey repeatedly on broken skin for myself and my kids. I have used it repeatedly as a suppository and I have used it as a Healing Implant Enema to stop colonic bleeding. You, of course, should do your research, follow your naturopathic doctor's advice, and only do what feels safe for you.

Note: Regarding the price of FissureHeal: Some customers have questioned why FissureHeal costs what it does, they love it and will continue to use the product, but they're wondering why it can't be available at a cheaper price?

Good question! And here's why: Each FissureHeal suppository is hand-made by a certified compound pharmacy. We have gotten numerous production quotes for it, and the pharmacy we chose quoted us the best price they could, here's what they wrote to us:

"After a complete cost evaluation of the ingredients used, shipping costs (receiving and sending), time to compound (weighing, mixing, pouring), foil wrapping each one individually and boxing..... The compounding procedure from start to finish is tedious work. We must get each suppository poured properly (no air bubbles), remove each one out of the mold without damaging it and wrapping it consistently. This is very time consuming. I tried to keep the costs as low as I could and still make it fair for both you and I."

So, if we could sell it to you cheaper, we would, but as you can see, this is a very time-consuming, handmade, high quality product and the price reflects that.

  1. Still waiting

Posted by Sue H. New York on 11th Oct 2012

I have proctitis and am dealing with a bad flare up - (inflamation, mucous, bleeding, pain). I have been using Fissure heal in some form (1/2 or whole suppository) morning and evening for over a week now as well as resting, strict diet, oregano oil, etc. and am still waiting to see any healing results. It definitely helped with inflamation but the other symptoms are the same. I know it may take months to heal, but I thought I would see more results by now.
