QuikPlus atom-sized ionic minerals are gentle on the bowel for rapid absorption.*
Magnesium is needed for over 325 enzyme reactions that sustain health in the body. It is Nature’s muscle relaxant; transmitting nerve signals and transporting energy. Remember that the heart is a muscle.*
Magnesium also regulates and metabolizes calcium and Vitamin D (for bone building). It is also involved in making DNA, and supporting healthy blood sugar and blood pressure levels.*
In addition, Magnesium is a co-factor for enzyme ATP; a main source of energy in our cells. It is also involved in nerve conduction and muscle function.*
Dosage: 1 tbsp (15 ml) 1-2 times per day. Shake well. Hold in mouth for 30 seconds, then swallow. Or add to water, juice, soup, tea, shake or smoothie.
Magnesium (as magnesium chloride): 80mg
Gentle on the bowel: QuikPlus Magnesium atom-sized mineral does not require digestion as its nano size (less than 250 picometers) means it can be absorbed directly into your cells.*

As this magnesium is atom-sized (angstrom/nanoparticle-sized - less than 250 picometres in diameter) and ionically charged, it does not require digestion and therefore it does not cause bowel movements or loose stools - very important if you tend towards diarrhea! It is also very mild tasting - even my kids take it straight.
Magnesium is especially important for people with IBD to both avoid intestinal spasming and cramping and to reduce inflammation. Most people with IBD also need extra potassium for similar reasons.
As Dr. Carolyn Dean MD ND says: "Researchers concluded that: 'High magnesium intake is associated with lower concentrations of certain markers of systemic inflammation and endothelial dysfunction in postmenopausal women.(1) In my world, the most common cause of systemic inflammation is yeast overgrowth coupled with diet and lifestyle toxicity. Endothelial dysfunction occurs when the smooth muscles lining blood vessels are in spasm because of magnesium deficiency. By remaining rigid, they drive up blood pressure and can cause stroke and heart attacks! So, if you've been waiting around for absolute proof that magnesium is beneficial, then there it is." This is an ideal way to get your magnesium (40% of Americans are deficient in magnesium) without irritating your bowels. The other way that would work is transdermally (through the skin), by putting Magnesium Oil into your bath water. However, you can get a much higher dosage orally.
When I take QuikPlus Magnesium, I either hold it in my mouth for 30 seconds, then swallow. Or, I add it to my herbal tea, shake, Emergen-C, or my water bottle.
One evening I was at my Dad's house and he began to have heart arrhythmia - now this is someone who's already had triple bypass surgery. My brother was also there (who's an MD) and after checking my father he told him to go to the hospital in the morning. Wait! I zipped home to get my atom-sized magnesium - gave my Dad a double-dose and told him to hold it in his mouth for a minute or two. We waited five minutes and I told my brother to check my Dad again. He pronounced him a-okay and a hospital visit, a host of tests and anxiety were avoided! Remember, the heart is a big muscle - so needs adequate magnesium to function properly and avoid spasming.
