Grape Seed Extract, Proanthodyn™
Antioxidant Protection

Source Naturals Grape Seed Extract is a powerful plant product from whole grape seeds. The procyanidins in grape seed extract are a special class of water-soluble bioflavonoids that are excellent free radical scavengers that have been shown to support circulatory health. Preliminary research suggests that the antioxidant protection of grape seed extract may support a healthy aging brain, and play an important role in maintaining good health.

Most people already know that Grape seed extract is a potent antioxidant. And I have been recommending it as part of my IBD Remission Diet since 2002. But we now have evidence that grape seed extract is helpful in cancer treatment too.

A study published in January 2012 in the journal Carcinogenesis shows that in both cell lines and mouse models, grape seed extract (GSE) kills head and neck squamous cell carcinoma cells, while leaving healthy cells unharmed.

Grape seed extract creates conditions that are unfavorable to growth. Specifically, the paper shows that grape seed extract both damages cancer cells' DNA and stops the pathways that allow repair. The grape seed extract killed the cancer cells but not the healthy cells.
