Personally, I won't use regular powdered calcium supplements like this one anymore - due to growing evidence that regular (whether chelated, colloidal or ionic) calcium is not bioavailable enough (the body cannot absorb it very well) and the excess cannot be excreted, so builds up in arteries.
Researchers speculate that this is the cause of the massive spike in heart disease among women - since it also correlates with the push for women to take 1500 mg calcium per day. I have done a blog post on this topic if you are interested in the data behind these statements.
Of course, this has also not been conclusively proven, so by all means do your own research and do what you feel is best for your body.
Personally, I think we are better off getting calcium from RAW milk (cow, goat or camel), raw cheese, and by eating or juicing green leafy vegetables like kale and chard.
For myself and my family, we also take the nano-sized mineral supplement BONE MATRIX to ensure enough calcium. This angstrom-sized supplement ensures 100% absorption, even through the lining of your mouth - so no chance of build-up in your arteries.
Of course, Quikplus Bone Matrix is also available here in the Shoppe and if you are dealing with osteoporosis, or taking Prednisone (causes osteoporosis) then you should definitely check it out.
