What Is The Difference Between The Absorb Plus and the Vegan Elemental Shake Kits?

The Absorb Plus elemental kits contain whey isolate protein and the vegan elemental kits contain brown rice protein. Absorb Plus also contains a customized amino acid blend and a very extensive vitamin/mineral panel. With Absorb Plus, all the elemental shake ingredients are already pre-mixed in one tub. With the vegan shake kits you have to add together 5 more ingredients since it is not pre-blended.

The bio-availability of whey isolate is higher than brown rice protein, so if you can tolerate whey (the lactose and casein have been removed) the Absorb Plus kits are probably the better choice. Also our customers tell us the whey protein tastes better than rice protein, so for children especially, we would suggest the Absorb Plus kits if they can tolerate it. Brown rice protein (ours is sprouted and organic) is usually better tolerated (less allergenic) than whey protein, so that is another consideration.

This Kit is an easy way to test out whether an elemental diet is right for you, or, to make it easy to order all the ingredients and supplements you need to get going right away.

This Kit contains a one-week supply of all the ingredients needed for The IBD Remission Diet, plus the supplements I recommend you add to the shakes, and take between shakes (on an empty stomach). So although you will likely be finished the Absorb Plus by the end of the week, you will probably have some of the supplements left-over.

Then, if you want to continue on the elemental diet (or IBD Remission Diet), you will have a good idea of how much you need to order and what your usage requirements are.

    Off to a great start!

Posted by Unknown on 26th Jun 2017

I have been drinking the shakes for about two weeks now and feel great. My desire for caffeine has vanished, with no residual headaches. My elimination has changed - no bleeding and no discomfort or irregularity. I have lots of energy for the most part. Somedays I do supplement with food. But only veggies and gluten free patties or simple fish or chicken. I am feeling very positive about this approach and I will continue to keep drinking the shakes and using the entire protocol. I really like the Mucosaheal as well! The only negative I can report is that there is contradiction throughout the book regarding the diet and the directions regarding supplements, etc are confusing.

I am both sugar and histamine intolerant. I have not had any problems with the Unflavored Vanilla Absorb Plus, the Quercetin, or Coenzyme Q10. I reacted to the following products with maddening itching, pounding heart, and hot flashes/sweats: Aloe Vera juice, the Vitamin C as ascorbic acid, and the MucosaHeal. I had to take a benadryl when I tried each of those products, which I took separately because I suspected they might be a problem from past experience. The pycnogenol is the same type that made the upper back part of my arms hurt so bad a few years ago that it felt like someone had been beating me, so I didn't venture to take it again. I found the book informative, although a bit confusing and in some areas dated as it is several years old. The shaker is nice, but you can also get the same kind at GNC for $10.However, overall, I am glad I got the kit, because I got the book in hard copy, and enough tubs of the Unflavored Vanilla Absorb Plus to get started on this venture.
