I knew that silica was important to promote healthy bones, but until I did more research I did not realize it also helps heal wounds and build connective tissue, supports cardiovascular health and revitalizes skin, hair and nails!

Aside from being present in collagen and osteoblasts, silica is also found in the thymus, liver, blood, heart, muscle and skin. However, the silica content of these tissues decreases with age, or, with diseases in these tissues.

I find silica fantastic for yet another issue: Sometimes I get this pain in my thumb joint. Especially after working for several hours of manual labor - like building a fence, or shoveling manure. Some people might think it was arthritis, but my gut told me it's because I was missing a mineral - that I needed more due to my workload. That's when I started researching and the lightbulb went off when I hit silica.

So when I take this QuikPlus Silica, the pain and soreness in my thumb joint is relieved within an hour or so. If I take it before I do heavy work, then I don't get the soreness, weakness or pain at all.

Of course there is a good dose of silica in the QuikPlus Bone Matrix blend. But if you have joint pain, or brittle nails, thin hair etc then consider supplementing extra as well. I add it to my herbal tea, shake, Emergen-C, or my water bottle.
