Essence of Life Magnesium Oil is derived from natural, condensed seawater and contains a multitude of healthful, dissolved minerals and trace elements. The oil-like (brine) feel is due to its viscosity and saturation of trace elements.

How to Use Magnesium Oil?
The manufacturer recommends: Pour 1 - 2 ounces of Magnesium Oil in a tub (or a foot soak) of warm/hot water for a pleasurable, 30-minute sea bath. Benefits of magnesium oil include supporting relief from daily stress, and promoting a feeling of wellness.* Magnesium oil is great for skin, so use it as a massage oil, too!
Carolyn Dean MD ND recommends: "Dilute the oil (which is really just supersaturated magnesium chloride in distilled water) 50:50 with distilled water/clean water. Spread 1 to 2 tsp on your body after your morning shower. On the trunk/torso is better. It gets a bit itchy on legs and arms. Also, magnesium oil naturally elevates DHEA in the body.* A small number of people find it too itchy, in that case, wash oil off the skin after 30 minutes - most should be absorbed by then. Or, instead, add one ounce of magnesium oil to a warm/hot foot bath and soak feet for 30 minutes."
Caution: Avoid direct contact with eyes and sensitive mucous membranes as you would with any sea-salt solution. If you experience a slight, temporary stinging sensation, simply dilute the area with clean water.

Personally, I cannot apply this magnesium oil to my skin, I find it way too itchy! However, i LOVE it in my bath water. And I have a little trick to get more bang for your buck:
Instead of adding 2 ounces of magnesium oil per bath, add 1 ounce of magnesium oil (2 tbsp.) plus 1 cup of Epsom Salts (available really cheap at Costco). I find this produces the same results but is much more affordable.
I have a magnesium bath whenever my muscles are sore, or I am feeling run down, or it's a great relaxant before bed! My kids always ask for magnesium in their bath - along with their Deep Steep Bubble Bath!
I have been using magnesium for quite some time now as I play alot of sport and when I have cramps or pain anywhere I used bath flakes in the past but bought it elsewhere as you dont stock it and I also rubbed the oil on my body and have used it in my foot spa and that's works a treat, love the product and couldn't do without it
