Looking For Horses is Kesia Nagata's intimate debut album, which spans a deeply personal decade of songwriting, travel, love, loss and wonder.
Concocted from stripped down arrangements and raw, honest lyricism, Looking For Horses teases apart what it means to be human and carefully examines the connection between soul and earth.
It's singer-songwriter simple, with a Lo-Fi Indie Folk vibe, a touch of rock and a bit of the blues; described as, “*One part salt water, one part woodsmoke, and one part wide open fields*”
Kesia's voice and lyrics are complex and spacious, furiously open-hearted, and profoundly honest.

About Kesia Nagata
I first heard Kesia play and sing when she brought her guitar out to the pasture and my horse, Zorra, stood there absolutely entranced by her music. After hearing her play live at a few gigs around town I really started pushing her to record - for the simple reason that I wanted her music!
After a road trip through the Sonoran Desert in Arizona, where the only music I wanted to listen to was Kesia’s songs… I decided enough was enough, and we just simply had to produce this album. I have to say that even after listening to it hundreds of times now, her words and music still speak deeply to me.
I find myself reaching for Kesia’s album when I’m hurting, or going through a challenging time, or feeling stressed - I call her music “stealth healing” because whether you realize it or not, her songs are balm for the soul.
And I still find it the perfect road trip music - especially driving through the desert!
