Vitamin B12

Jini Says: Many people need B-12 in sublingual (under the tongue) form as they cannot absorb B-12 from their small intestine (terminal ileum). Sublingual B-12 is absorbed through the mucous membranes in the mouth and absoprtion is best under the tongue. People with IBD are frequently deficient in all of the B-complex vitamins and corticosteroids also increase B vitamin requirements. In that case, see our Vitamin B Complex section.
