ThyroPlex For Men is a 100% natural glandular formulation developed by Jonathan V. Wright, M.D., one of the leading practitioners of alternative medicine in the U.S. ThyroPlex is a unique combination of glandular extracts, including those from glandular thyroid (¼ grain), adrenal, hypothalamus, pituitary, and testicular tissue.
No case of mad cow disease has ever been reported in New Zealand, which has had stringent controls in place since 1989 to prevent this from occurring. As an extra precaution, we have our thyroid products tested by an independent laboratory in the United States to ensure that they are safe to use.
According to a classic study conducted in 1974 by Dr. James Isaacs, a pioneering cardiovascular surgeon from Baltimore, people who took ¼ grain of thyroid along with vitamins and minerals over a period of 10 years showed significant improvement in cardiovascular function. Dr. Wright recommends ThyroPlex for people over age 40 who have no overt endocrine disease. He points out that, even if one is not experiencing symptoms, all endocrine glands are beginning to slow down at this stage of life. The most common comment from people taking ¼ grain of the natural thyroid component in ThyroPlex (one capsule), according to Wright, is, "I just feel a little more energetic overall. My thinking seems a little clearer, and my bowel function is a little better."
Even if you already taking thyroid, for most people ThyroPlex will likely provide the benefits of the other glandular extracts, says Dr. Wright. Unless you are in very brittle condition - and to an endocrinologist brittle means that the amount you take has to be exactly right on - you might consider the use of ThyroPlex as part of your supplementation program because, while it adds only ¼ grain of the actual thyroid glandular itself, it also nourishes the rest of the endocrine network.
Research also indicates that proper thyroid function is associated with:
- Enhanced energy levels*
- Enhanced libido function*
- Improved memory function*
- Elevated mood*
Who Should Use ThyroPlex?
Per Dr. Wright, this product is for you if you have no overt endocrine disease and are over 40 (because this is when all the endocrine glands are going to start slowing down).
Caution: Not for use by children, pregnant or lactating women, or those who have an overt endocrine disease. Not for use by anyone sensitive to any of the ingredients.
Suggested Use: For adults over the age of 40, one capsule daily or as suggested by your physician.
When is the Best Time to Take ThyroPlex?
It is best to take ThyroPlex all at once at the same time every day, preferably in the morning. Taking natural thyroid with breakfast is acceptable, but there is more availability if taken about one hour before or two hours after your first meal.

I really like Dr. Jonathan V. Wright's approach (the doc who formulated Thyroplex) which views all the glands as domino-linked together. Therefore, when resolving a hormonal imbalance, it makes sense to treat ALL the glands (which produce hormones). Because, if you just treat one gland, or focus on one hormone, you could throw the rest of your glands/hormones out of balance.
We talked a lot about the need for balancing hormones in chronic illness in my teleseminar with Dr. Wendy Ellis - a colleague of Dr. Wright's, who works with him at his clinic in Washington.
Of course, it's ideal (and recommended) to consult a hormone specialist and have your hormones tested properly. But for those who can't afford this, taking ThyroPlex (and often natural progesterone cream if you have prostrate problems) may be enough to resolve hormonal imbalance, or at least make a significant difference.
If you have chronic illness, or are over age 35, there's a pretty good chance you've burned out your adrenals and your thyroid is unbalanced (usually low thyroid - hypothyroid). Hence ThyroPlex usually works well for most people.
