Suffering from allergies, allergic reactions, or other health issues associated with allergies? This DAO product is meant to assist with all of these things. Diem Histamine Digest is a diamine oxidase (DAO) supplement.

My assistant Linsy has used this supplement to clear her severe allergies and allergic reactions. Her allergies were so severe that she could not stop sneezing or blowing her nose, and she also suffered from asthma. Within just a few days of using this, she got relief from years of misery!

She likes it because it is a natural and easy way to relieve allergies and can be taken in a way that works best for you.

Her current preferred way of using this product is to take one on an empty stomach, in the morning, and another before dinner on an empty stomach. When she began, however, she needed 2 capsules in the morning and 2 at night - and then she lessened the dosage as her body began to create DAO naturally.

Her physician recommended taking this product on an empty stomach, as it helps with environmental allergies. However, it’s good to note that If you take this product with food, it helps with food allergies!

Why is DAO so important? What many people don’t realize is that the enzyme diamine oxidase (DAO) is created in the small intestine to break down histamine. Without it, your body can have a really hard time breaking down any histamine - thus resulting in allergies.

It's interesting to note that many people with gut disorders have multiple allergies as well. Since DAO is made in the small intestine, having a gut disorder may inhibit the natural production of DAO in our bodies.

DAO is the primary enzyme responsible for the breakdown of histamine in the digestive tract. Diem Histamine Digest delivers naturally derived diamine oxidase to the small intestine, where it acts directly on dietary histamine to defend against histamine-related reactions and digestive discomfort.

Histamine Digest is indicated for those with intolerance to dietary histamine, histamine sensitivity, and occasional digestive distress related to histamine-containing foods and beverages.

OmneDiem Histamine Digest supplies Diamine Oxidase (DAO), the enzyme that neutralizes histamine in the digestive tract.* Taking OmneDiem Histamine Digest prior to consuming high-histamine foods and beverages helps defend against digestive histamine sensitivity and the occurrence of accompanying reactions.*

Natural
Our DAO is a natural enzyme-rich protein extract from the porcine kidney that is delivered to the small intestine.

Convenient
DAO promotes histamine degradation within 20 min after intake.

Safe
DAO is not absorbed into the body and no adverse events have been recorded with DAO supplementation.

What is Histamine?

Histamine is a biogenic amine present in our bodies and in our food supply. Biogenic amines are found in everything from dairy products and meats to fruits, vegetables, and grains. Processes that result in the microbial alteration of foods — such as aging (meat), fermentation (wine, spirits, cheese), and package processing (prepared packed foods) — can increase the levels of histamine and other biogenic amines in foods and beverages.

Allergy or Intolerance?

While the symptoms of Histamine Intolerance (HIT) may mimic allergic reactions, HIT is not a classical food allergy. Rather, research suggests that HIT is mediated by a deficiency in levels and/or activity of the Diamine Oxidase enzyme.

Allergy – An immune system response to a specific allergenic substance. Symptoms can appear quickly with very little exposure.

Intolerance – A reaction that does not involve an immunological response. Reactions can take time to appear and increase upon the level of exposure.

Allergy vs Intolerance

Symptoms of Histamine Intolerance

While the symptoms of Histamine Intolerance (HIT) may mimic allergic reactions, HIT is not a classical food allergy. Rather, research suggests that HIT is mediated by a deficiency in levels and/or activity of the Diamine Oxidase enzyme. Reactions are variable, seem unrelated, and are widespread. Common reactions include:

  • Vasodilation (flushing/reddening)
  • Hypotension/Tachycardia
  • Stuffy, Runny Nose/Sneezing
  • Swelling or Red, Watery Eyes
  • Headache or Migraine
  • Diarrhea, Cramps, Bloating
  • Feelings of Anxiety
  • Urticaria (hives)

Solution - Digestive Enzyme: Diamine Oxidase (DAO)*

• Neutralizes histamine in the gut*

• Non-systemic, no drug — nutrient interactions, natural kidney extract

8% of people worldwide are affected by histamine intolerance

Intolerance occurs when the histamine levels in the body get too high or can’t be broken down properly — when histamine levels exceed the amount of diamine oxidase enzyme (DAO) available for degradation.

How Histamine Digest Works

Diamine Oxidase (DAO) is responsible for the degradation of biogenic amines ingested with food (exogenous histamine). DAO is active in the ileum and jejunum of the small intestine. It is also found concentrated in the kidney, thymus, and placenta. When histamine levels in the digestive tract become excessive, DAO breaks down the excess. When there is a deficiency of available DAO or DAO activity is blocked, reactions can occur. OmneDiem Histamine Digest supplies natural, active supplemental DAO to help neutralize excess histamine.*

Causes of Histamine Intolerance

An imbalance between histamine and the degrading enzyme Diamine Oxidase (DAO)

 Cause of histamine intolerance

  • Chocolate
  • Cheese (all types, especially aged)
  • Sauerkraut
  • Tuna
  • Aged, cured, processed and fermented meats (pepperoni, sausage, bacon)
  • Tomatoes/Ketchup
  • Vinegar (all types)
  • Alcoholic beverages
  • Shellfish
  • Avocado
  • Bananas
  • Eggplant

Histamine Liberators

  • Berries (especially strawberries)
  • Alcoholic Beverages
  • Milk and dairy products
  • Citrus fruits
  • Bananas
  • Chocolate
  • Shellfish

DAO Enzyme-Inhibiting Drugs

  • Acemetacin
  • Acetylcysteine
  • Adalimumab (Humaira)
  • Amitriptyline
  • Antihistamines
  • Aspirin
  • Diazapam
  • Duloxetine (Cymbalta)

  • Ibuprofen
  • Neomycin
  • Propranolol
  • Sertraline (Zoloft)
  • Venlafaxine
  • Verapamil

Triple-threat

Alcoholic beverages present a “triple-threat” to histamine levels by:

  1. 1. Introducing excess histamine levels
  2. 2. Liberating histamine
  3. 3. Blocking the activity of DAO in the gastrointestinal tract.

DOES NOT CONTAIN: Wheat, gluten, yeast, soy, dairy products, fish, shellfish, peanuts, tree nuts, eggs, ingredients derived from genetically modified organisms (GMOs), artificial colors, artificial sweeteners, or artificial preservatives.
