You can use this as a nutritive supplement, or a stool softening/bulking agent (helps both diarrhea and constipation), or to thicken puddings, smoothies etc. If you don’t want your shake or smoothie to be thicker, then just add 1 tsp. If you’d like to use this to add body and texture, then add 1 tbsp. or more. Flax seed should always be kept in the fridge, and even more so if it’s ground. So I also keep my unopened packages in the fridge too.
