L-Glutamine is a free-form amino acid that’s excellent for stopping diarrhea and also very healing for the gastrointestinal tract. It is the primary nutrient for the mucosal lining of the intestine.

Take it on an empty stomach if you want the anti-diarrhea action. Start with 1/4 teaspoon with water on an empty stomach (20 minutes before food, or 2 hours after food) and gradually build up from there until you find the dosage that's effective for you.

When combined with food, it does not have an anti-diarrhea effect, but will just be healing for your digestive tract. Mix it with water and drink it down – it’s practically tasteless and the pharmaceutical grade powder mixes completely, without a gritty feel, or sinking to the bottom.
