Description

QuikPlus atom-sized ionic minerals are gentle on the bowel for rapid absorption.*

About 70% of the body’s iron is in red blood cells called hemoglobin, which is vital for transferring oxygen from the lungs to the body’s tissues.

Gentle on the stomach: This atom-sized iron doesn’t require digestion as its nano size (less than 160 picometers) means it can be absorbed directly into cell channels.*

IMPORTANT NOTE: QuikPlus Iron has the potential to stain teeth and the taste can be very off putting to some people. Unlike some of the other mineral products we carry, we do NOT recommend swishing it around your mouth. The iron concentrate product can vary in color but it is usually a yellow/brown color.  It can also have sediment and appear more clear.

This atom-sized (nano/angstrom) iron is especially exciting for people with gut disorders, since normal iron is quite irritating to the gut and can trigger intestinal bleeding, or result in constipation. Previously, this lead to quite a multi-step process in my book, Listen To Your Gut, mapping out a way for readers to take iron in order to boost absorption, yet guard against these adverse effects.

All of that becomes unnecessary with this atom-sized (angstrom/nanoparticle-sized - less than 250 picometres in diameter) ionically charged iron, since it does not require digestion and therefore does not irritate the GI tract. I even tested it by taking 8x and then 16x the dose on one day – but there were no adverse effects.

However, you do not want to hold this atom-sized iron in your mouth as it may stain your teeth. So best to just mix it in water and swallow quickly.

I used this iron myself to raise both my hemoglobin and my ferritin (iron stores). It works really fast and there are no intestinal effects as it does not require digestion. For this reason, it should be safe to use whilst bleeding – but go slowly and test it to be sure.

The iron particles are atom-sized (.10 nm), very tiny nanoparticles, which are absorbed instantly into the blood and cells. To prevent constipation, be sure to follow the dosage with lots of water or other liquid. Take your iron dosage as directed on the label, then follow it with a glass of water. It tastes only faintly of iron, but mostly just like metallic water. Kids can take it with no problem.

This was sent in by a reader of mine who tried desperately to increase her ferritin (iron stores) yet nothing worked until she tried angstrom (atom-sized) iron. She is a nutritionist and her husband is a Pediatrician - so they track data, yay!:

"We drew my ferritin today and it looks promising for the angstrom iron!
I started the angstrom iron on 12/29/12, so its been about 7 weeks.

"Here's my last SEVERAL ferritin results (yup, I'm a dork). This seems statistically significant to us, which is exciting. Mostly exciting too because I can tolerate it, no problem!"

Note: If using this iron to raise hemoglobin, it's a good idea to test after 6 weeks as it usually works faster than regular iron supplements.

Not impressed. This QuikPlus Atom-sized Ionic Iron liquid looked like beer, then turned yellow and it did nothing for anemia.

Hi Dhale, we’re sorry the QuikPlus Ionic Iron didn’t seem to improve your anemia. When you mentioned that it “looked like beer” and then turned yellow, could you tell us when you first noticed the color change and how the bottle was stored? We’d like to look into this further.

May we also ask how long you took it, the amount you used, and whether you had your iron levels retested afterward? It would also help to know whether you were taking vitamin C, vitamin B12, and folate, important co-factors the body needs to properly utilize iron.

Since anemia can have different underlying causes, we recommend reviewing your results with your healthcare provider as well. Our team will also contact you by email so we can gather more details and assist personally.

2 weeks in...

My son has been taking 10 mg (60 drops) per day for 2 weeks. We have yet to get repeat bloodwork, but his coloring is getting better and his energy is night and day. He was in a full-on flare, so we implemented Absorb Plus and then later this iron. Between the two (and LOTS of rest!), he went from bed/bathroom 24/7 to walking 1/4 mile to church, running, and climbing a tree. So thankful to have our son back. And hopeful his hemoglobin numbers look better soon!

Edited to add: He has now been taking 2 doses per day for one month. His hemoglobin went from 8.3 to 10.8! Thank you, Jesus, and thank you LTYG!

Did not cause constipation, taste tolerable, left me with more energy. A win all around!

Improved levels in 1 month

My levels had drastically dropped due to hormonal and health issues, after 1 my levels are just under normal. The taste is not pleasant, adding to heavy juice makes it easiest to take.

Best iron supplement I've tried

I've been hesitant for years to supplement with iron due to an easily upset stomach and stagnant GI motility, so I'm pleased and surprised that this works. Zero nausea, reflux, etc. and no noticeable impact on bowel motility. I have more energy, and I suspect my Fe labs will show improvement when drawn next month. One caveat: I would follow the directions on the bottle and make sure to take the supplement with plenty of fluids, as that may explain the absence of upper/lower GI upset.
